Ben (left) and sister Pepper were rescue dogs who raced into our lives as little fuzzy puppies so overjoyed at finding us that they chased each other around their new home on their first night. For almost a dozen years, their play and joy was constant. They were smart, loving, vigilant, faithful, and true Aussie cowdogs, always working as a team herding their cats or a passing jogger. Sweet Pepper died at Christmas, Ben stayed with us for eight months more, helping his popi through an illness and living up to his name — Benjamin, “son of the right hand.”
