In Memory Of: Hannah

It was love at first sight. Eleven years ago I found myself standing in front of her kennel at the local SPCA. I was intrigued by this timid, demure mystical creature with twenty-eight toes.

Out the cage she went, falling into my open arms. Within seconds, she had managed to flip onto her back and nuzzle the full weight of her body into mine. Her emerald green eyes stared deeply into my soul. It was then that I knew I had found my heart – my forever and always.

From that day onward, I was spellbound. We grew together. We moved thousands of miles, survived hurricanes, breakups, and bad hair days. I gave her safety, security, and unconditional love. In return, she revoked all house rules and instated her own. I was both captive and captivated. She was not mine, I was hers. I wouldn’t have had it any other way for “Mama” always knew best.

Hannah, you will always be my very best friend. We survived the hardest of times together. I love and miss you so much.
